When darkness falls and shadows cover faces
I dream of you and me in bright, sunny places
So treacherous, a silly lie that makes me blind
One look at you and poisoned was my mind
When darkness falls and voices only mumble
I watch the troubled clown and wait for him to tumble
The circus closed, there’s no applause for shattered dreams
